So I did a thing …

Some will probably believe it’s not a big deal. But to me, I did something pretty amazing. My first book, Inside Of Me, was made into a short film. And I had the pleasure of holding a RED CARPET PREMIERE EVENT to show my family and friends my accomplishments. To be completely honest, I was a little disappointed not seeing the people who I wanted to share this day with me. But, as always, God showed me who my supporters are – even the ones who didn’t get to come but supported me in other ways. For that, I am very appreciative.

Because I am an independent filmmaker, ‘independent’ is truly a very mighty word. It means finances are solely on me. But I wanted to make sure the night was special for the Casts of the movie. I had already had an idea of how many were supposed to come. So I ordered them a special gift – a small replica of an Oscar award. Not realizing when I bought them, it would have a such a huge impact on the smiles of these beautiful people. And they deserved it. Each person did a spectacular job creating life into the characters of my book.

Now that the Premiere is over, what’s next? Well … being stress free is my top priority. I need a few weeks before I get back on my grind again. I started working on my own docu-series. This is special to me because it deals with my platform, Mental Illness; in particular Depression. So keep your eyes and ears open this summer.
